… during Hurricane Katrina
"Alicia started at Anta’s Kung Fu when she was 3 ½. Today at 8 years old many friends and family members are amazed at her level of maturity, academic excellence, respect for her self and others, self confidence, manners and discipline. We attribute this to Mr. Anta’s teachings.
I will never forget approximately 2 years ago during Hurricane Katrina my family was in a room waiting for the hurricane to pass. All of them were crying and/or to the point of a nervous breakdown. The only person that was calm, alert and aware of the situation was Alicia. There were objects flying and breaking throughout our patio and our house was being damaged. I was setting looking a bit depressed given that I could not do anything to stop Mother Nature and the destruction that it did to our house.
Suddenly I felt a warm hand on my shoulder and it was my 6 year old daughter Alicia and she told me: Daddy do not worry, everything is going to be alright. She looked at me and gave me a hug! I don’t think she would have reacted that way without what she’d learned at Anta’s Kung Fu."
